The Exit Of Demuren Is A Great Loss To Ilese - Pa Odusanya
The Baba-Oba Elese, Otunba Pa Odusanya Kayode have described the exit of Otunba Segun Demuren as a great loss to the Christian body and to the entire community.
Speaking during an Interview, Baba Odusanya was full of emotion, pointing out that Otunba Demuren left a very big vacuum in the society Excerpts.
Q: From your point of view do you think Otunba Demuren was able to add value to the society before his exit?
A: The exit of Otunba Demuren was very devastating to me but as a Christian I cannot question God because he is the ultimate, he knows the beginning to the end, otherwise you should be interviewing Demuren about my demise instead of me talking about the demise of Segun.
But that is the plan of God and we will continue to give him all the glory. Segun was devoted cousin to me and he took me as a mentor and followed all my steps.
He lost his father very early in life but God on his side despite several challenges he was able to graduate at the OAU in flying colours.
Talking about his contributions to his immediate environment, he was the former Chairman Ilese Development Council before he handed over power to his successor in office and God used him to attract a lot of development to Ilese during this period.
He also served as the Chancellor Ijebu Anglican Diocese and he was very instrumental towards the development of the Church.
What pained me most about his demise was the confidence I had in him and I have told him he would lead my children during my burial but God should forgive me for I don't now I was only speaking from the flesh.
Segun used his resources, wealth of experiences to uplift others, even when he was still on the hospital bed he was still giving helping hands to the needy, one funny thing about Segun is that he does not get emotional no matter the challenges he will just smiles and that was one of his strengthen. He was not bothered no matter the challenges before him.
God is supreme we cannot question God but we will continue to appreciate God because he has children that are up to the task and I am confidence they will be able to continue his good works.
